Parliament needs to follow UK -change Glasgow lease

Says John McConnell, long time committee member of the Leaseholders Association, “Parliament needs to change the law so that ground rents have to be a fair market rental, not calculated by an archaic formula. And in this instance Cornwall Park Trust Board should pay proper compensation for lessee’s improvements as was its advertised assurances when the lessees were created in the 1920’s.” See the picture above at header of the story.

“We cannot do is let matters drift whilst the Park gets into deeper difficulty and leaseholders end up walking away from homes they have lovingly built or restored. It’s time the Trust engaged in a sensible dialogue with us, about the best solution for all the leaseholder’s homes so families have security of tenure and something they can sell.

Sign the petition - this is not just about Cornwall Park but any other lessor who has Glasgow leases which are unfair and outdated. In fact so outdated they are outlawed in the UK.
